The OpenPOWER CAPI Accelerator Compliance – Test Specification provides the requirements for a test suite to demonstrate the compliance of an OpenPOWER CAPI Accelerator solution with the relevant OpenPOWER specifications. The OpenPOWER specifications covered are:

  1. OpenPOWER Power Service Layer (PSL) to Accelerator Function Unit (AFU) Interface Specification which describes the hardware level interface between the PSL and the AFU.  It is used by AFU developers to easily connect a specialized accelerator into the OpenPOWER system structure.
  2. OpenPOWER Coherent Accelerator Interface Architecture Version 1 (CAIA V1) Specification   which describes the software interface to the PSL and is used by accelerated application developers.

The OpenPOWER CAPI Accelerator Compliance – Test Specification document is a Standards Track, Work Group Specification owned by the Compliance Workgroup and handled in compliance with the requirements outlined in the OpenPOWER Foundation Work Group (WG) Process document.
